Role Overview

The Senior BIM Mechanical Engineer defines the BIM/Revit modelling strategy for mechanical (HVAC, cooling, piping) scope across data centre and mission-critical projects, holds technical sign-off authority, and mentors junior and intermediate engineers.

The role leads multidisciplinary BIM coordination and enforces modelling standards at CTS's São Paulo engineering hub, working across CTS's global project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define the BIM/Revit modelling strategy for mechanical (HVAC, cooling, piping) scope across data centre and mission-critical projects.

  • Hold technical sign-off authority for mechanical BIM model outputs, ensuring accuracy, constructability, and compliance with project standards.

  • Lead multidisciplinary BIM coordination, enforcing modelling standards, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and ISO 19650 compliance across the mechanical scope.

  • Lead model audits and quality assurance, verifying level of detail (LOD), naming standards, and traceability across the mechanical model.

  • Lead coordination with mechanical vendors and OEMs on equipment data and model content for BIM integration.

  • Oversee design reviews, coordination workshops, and clash resolution for the mechanical discipline.

  • Mentor junior and intermediate BIM/mechanical engineers and review their model outputs.

  • Liaise with clients and design leadership on BIM strategy, digital workflows, and continuous improvement of mechanical modelling processes.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's preferred.

  • 10+ years of experience in BIM/Revit environments, with a strong track record in mechanical/HVAC design and model coordination on mission-critical or data centre projects.

  • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP, Navisworks, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) or equivalent CDE platforms.

  • Strong command of mechanical/HVAC design standards (e.g., ASHRAE) as applied within BIM coordination and model sign-off.

  • Deep knowledge of ISO 19650, BIM Execution Plans (BEP), and multidisciplinary model governance.

  • Advanced or fluent English for collaboration with international teams.

  • Proven leadership, mentoring, and client/vendor engagement skills.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package with performance-based incentives.

  • Meal vouchers and/or food vouchers.

  • Life insurance.

  • Direct collaboration with international colleagues and exposure to high-value global projects.

  • Career path within CTS Group’s global projects and international teams.

  • A dynamic, professional, and inclusive work environment in São Paulo, focused on innovation and excellence.
