Role Overview

The Senior Civil & Structural Engineer defines the civil and structural engineering strategy for data centre and mission-critical facilities, holds technical sign-off authority, and mentors junior and intermediate engineers.

The role leads geotechnical and foundation strategy and manages liaison with authorities, contractors, and clients from concept through commissioning, at CTS's São Paulo engineering hub.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the civil and structural engineering strategy across foundations, structural frame, site works, and drainage.

• Provide technical authority and design sign-off for civil/structural packages.

• Lead geotechnical and foundation strategy, and approve final structural designs and calculations.

• Conduct design risk assessments and lead value-engineering/optimisation reviews for civil/structural scope.

• Lead multidisciplinary coordination and enforce modelling and documentation standards.

• Oversee design and construction quality; lead structural inspections and sign-off during construction.

• Lead contractor and material supplier negotiations and technical evaluation for civil/structural packages.

• Mentor junior and intermediate engineers and review their design deliverables.

• Liaise with authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ), contractors, and clients on structural compliance and delivery matters.

Required Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; Master's preferred.

• 10+ years in civil/structural engineering, including experience leading mission-critical/data-centre or large industrial design.

• Expert command of structural design standards and Brazilian regulations (ABNT NBR 6118, NBR 8800, NBR 6122).

• Advanced proficiency across AutoCAD, Revit Structure, Civil 3D, Navisworks, and structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, TQS, Eberick).

• Deep knowledge of foundation design, geotechnical interfaces, and site-development strategy.

• Advanced or fluent English for collaboration with international teams.

• Proven leadership, mentoring, and client/authority engagement skills.
