Role Overview

The Mechanical Engineer owns the end-to-end design of cooling and HVAC systems for data centre and mission-critical facilities — from concept through IFC to as-built. The role independently selects and sizes equipment, and leads multidisciplinary coordination.

The position supports fast-track delivery at CTS's São Paulo engineering hub, working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the design and coordination of cooling systems and associated mechanical packages, from concept to IFC and as-built stages.

  • Lead selection, sizing, and integration of cooling equipment such as chillers, CRAHs, CDUs, pumps, and heat rejection systems.

  • Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client technical requirements.

  • Develop technical drawings, schematics, layouts, specifications, and engineering documentation.

  • Lead MEP coordination and clash detection (mechanical vs. electrical and structural routing) in Navisworks.

  • Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and approve/release design packages within the assigned scope.

  • Optimise solutions for energy efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.

  • Support integrated testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.

  • Mentor junior engineers and review their design deliverables.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; Master's an advantage.

  • 5–10 years of experience in mechanical/HVAC design, including exposure to mission-critical/data-centre projects.

  • Strong knowledge of critical cooling systems (CRAH/CRAC, chillers, liquid cooling, heat exchangers, pumps) and redundancy concepts (N+1, 2N).

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks.

  • Experience with DCIM tools and interface coordination.

  • Advanced or fluent English for collaboration with international teams.

  • Strong problem-solving, coordination, and stakeholder-management skills.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation package with performance-based incentives.

  • Meal vouchers and/or food vouchers.

  • Life insurance.

  • Direct collaboration with international colleagues and exposure to high-value global projects.

  • Career path within CTS Group’s global projects and international teams.

  • A dynamic, professional, and inclusive work environment in São Paulo, focused on innovation and excellence.
